After suffering a hamstring injury in the Friday night preseason opener against the Detroit Lions, the Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly placed safety Ross Ventrone on their Reserve/Injured list. However, that stay on the list was a very short one as Ventrone was released Monday with an injury settlement.
Ventrone working out an injury settlement with the Steelers now frees him up to sign with another team once his hamstring heals. Additionally, Ventrone can re-sign with the Steelers but not until the length of his settlement passes plus another 6 weeks.
It’s sad to see the Steelers have to part with the Villanova product once again, but that’s just how it goes in the NFL and especially when it comes to fringe roster players such as himself.
