The Pittsburgh Steelers announced the release of veteran long snapper Greg Warren with a failed physical designation on Thursday.
Warren spent 12 years at the front of the black and gold special teams, and he hasn’t missed a game since the 2009 season.
His accuracy on his long snaps decreased in the last few seasons, tripling his inaccurate snaps from 2014 to 2015 and remaining high in 2016.
The 35-year-old hasn’t registered a special teams tackle or missed tackle since 2014, but Warren did recover a fumble by New England Patriots punt returner Julian Edelman this past season.
