The Steelers released tight end Rob Blanchflower, the team’s 2014 seventh-round draft pick as well as two other players who spent last season on injured reserve.
Blanchflower, who played at the University of Massachusetts, was on the practice squad as a rookie, but he was cut during training camp last season.
Offensive tackles Mitchell Van Dyk and Kelvin Palmer also were released. They also were injured during training camp.
The Steelers signed defensive tackle Lavon Hooks and long snapper Matt Dooley. Hooks spent the 2015 training camp with Green Bay and Dooley was at Steelers rookie minicamp last year.
