In preparation for their first practice before Thursday night’s game against the Cleveland Browns, the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed Sutton Smith back to the practice squad and released RB Darrin Hall.
Smith was one of the Steelers three draft picks in the sixth round of the 2019 draft. A linebacker out of Northern Illinois, he was originally praised for his versatility in playing on both sides of the ball at linebacker and fullback. Unfortunately, injuries prohibited him from playing in half of the Steelers preseason games and he did not make either the 53-man roster or the practice squad.
