Ahead of the start of the new league year the Pittsburgh Steelers placed a right of first refusal restricted tender on tackle Chris Hubbard and with a few weeks remaining before the deadline for him to sign an offer sheet from another team he has now been re-signed, according to the official NFL transaction report.
Hubbard, a former undrafted free agent out of Alabama-Birmingham, was scheduled to earn $1.797 million as a result of his one-year tender and it is unclear right now if that’s the contract he ultimately signed with the Steelers.
Hubbard started three games at right tackle last season for the Steelers when Marcus Gilbert was sidelined with an ankle injury.
