The Steelers placed injured center Maurkice Pouncey on injured reserve/designated to return list and signed veteran guard/center Doug Legursky to take his place on the roster.
Pouncey fractured his left fibula in the third preseason game against the Packers and had surgery to repair the injury. He is eligible to return in Week 9 against the Raiders.
The Steelers signed Legursky two days after Pouncey was injured. He was released on Saturday during the final cut-down, but he was back with his teammates this afternoon for an afternoon meeting.
Legursky gives the Steelers another veteran center behind starter Cody Wallace.
