The Steelers shuffled their offseason roster some more on Tuesday. The team announced they have placed center Nate Herbig on injured reserve, released cornerback Anthony Averett, and signed defensive end Marcus Haynes and linebacker Kyahva Tezino.
It’s a tough break for Herbig, who entered the preseason as the Steelers’ starting center. The veteran reportedly tore his rotator cuff, prematurely ending his season. Rookie center Zach Frazier will take the starting job in his stead.
Averett was a May signing for Pittsburgh who was a sleeper to make the final roster.
