Steelers place first player on Reserve/COVID List

The Steelers on Monday had their first player test positive for coronavirus as they began reporting for training camp as defensive back Arrion Springs was placed on the Reserve/COVID List.

Springs, who was in training camp with the Chiefs last year as an undrafted free agent, played with the Los Angeles Wildcats in the XFL earlier this year before signing with the Steelers in April.

The Reserve/COVID List is a new designation for NFL teams designed to allow them to keep players who test positive away from the remainder of the roster while retaining their rights.
