Where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and as of late when it comes to national draft analysts, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Maryland cornerback Deonte Banks are starting to heat up.
Draft analysts such as ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. and NFL Network’s Bucky Brooks have paired Banks with the Steelers in recent weeks. That connection continued Tuesday as NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein, whose father Larry was an offensive line coach in Pittsburgh from 2007-09, paired the Steelers with Banks at No. 17 overall in his latest mock draft.
“Banks should come in and compete for a starting spot,” Zierlein writes regarding the selection of Banks at No.
