Even casual fans can look at the Steelers' roster and see deficiencies at the backup safety and tight end positions, but having spoken with a few agents of some veteran players at those positions this week, the team hasn't been testing the waters much, if at all, in those areas.
The Steelers seem intent on going to camp July 27 with the players they have at safety and tight end and only adjusting if needed.
Agents for some of the top remaining players at both positions said the Steelers have not been in contact with them about their clients.
