Steelers offensive lineman Chris Hubbard signs one-year contract

Steelers offensive lineman Chris Hubbard signed his restricted free agent tender Thursday. Hubbard, who is entering his fourth season with the Steelers, will earn $1.8 million on the one-year contract.

Hubbard is the Steelers’ most versatile offensive lineman. He started three games at right tackle last season but can also play guard and center. The Steelers value Hubbard’s position flexibility, which also includes packages where he lines up as a tight end.

The Steelers have all five of their starting linemen returning next season and Hubbard’s signing assures they’ll have one of their top reserves. B.J. Finney, another reserve, is an exclusive rights free agent.
