Steelers Mike Tomlin doesn’t seem worried about Alex Highsmith groin injury: ‘It’s that time of year’

The Steelers have weathered this year’s training camp without major injury so far, but Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin provided updates on several minor ones while talking to the media on Tuesday.

Per Tomlin, star pass-rusher Alex Highsmith suffered a groin injury on Tuesday. Tomlin also mentioned that linebacker Tyler Murray has a groin injury, defensive lineman DeMarvin Leal has an unspecified injury, and safety Nathan Meadors has a hamstring injury.

Tomlin didn’t seem worried about any of the injuries, chalking it up to the normal wear and tear of training camp. However, for players such as Murray and Meadors, losing out on valuable summer reps could result in a blow to their preseason auditions for the 53-man roster.
