Michael Vick is traveling to Harrisburg on Tuesday to seek the support of Democratic legislators for a proposed law that could save the lives of dogs and cats.
House Bill 1516, sometimes called “the hot car law” or “pets in cars bill”, would give police officers more authority to remove a dog or cat in distress when locked inside a car when temperatures can be life-threatening. The officer would not be liable for damages, under the proposal.
“I know that I’m an unlikely advocate. I was part of the problem,” Mr. Vick said in a news release today.
