Steelers linemen zoom into bye week with battery-powered cars

PITTSBURGH -- After Tuesday's practice, the real competition began.

Center Cody Wallace grabbed his Traxxas-brand, battery-powered 'Slash' car. Guard Ramon Foster followed with his E-Maxx model.

With a flick of the remote, the cars bolted through every crevice of the Pittsburgh Steelers' outdoor practice fields. Guard David DeCastro and outside linebacker Bud Dupree observed the action.

While doing an interview on the field, defensive backs coach Carnell Lake kept turning his head, amazed at the speed. These aren't your father's toy cars. They can reach 50-to-60 miles an hour.
