Pittsburgh Steelers second-year linebacker Jordan Zumwalt was never a lock to make the team’s final 53 man roster last season out of training camp, but once a groin injury took hold of him during the preseason, it was clear that he would likely spend his rookie season on either the injured reserve list, or the practice squad. It ended up being the former and now the UCLA product and former sixth-round selection is eager to make another run at the roster.
“Honestly, I’m just grateful to be able to play,” Zumwalt said last week, according to Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
