Throughout the offseason leading up to the start of the 2024 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers found themselves in quite a few discussions regarding a trade for a big-play wide receiver after not being able to land one in the 2024 NFL Draft, or in free agency prior to that.
As is well-known, the Steelers struck out in trade talks for the likes of Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and even Davante Adams. It led to struggles on the field in the passing game in the 2024 season as Pittsburgh leaned heavily on George Pickens, but had little else around him.
