It’s become common in youth sports for not just the winning player or team to receive trophies, but for every single participant to go home with their very own award. While most people believe this is the right thing to do as a way to encourage participation, Pittsburgh Steelers veteran linebacker James Harrison is one of the people who thinks this method teaches the wrong values.
Harrison posted his great message in a post on Instagram.
I came home to find out that my boys received two trophies for nothing, participation trophies!
