Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that the Steelers have had contact with the representative free agent CB Brandon Flowers, but no plans to sign him right now. Fowler admits that Pittsburgh could always circle back.
It’s worth mentioning that signing him to a contract won’t impact a team’s compensatory picks, considering that he was released.
Flowers, 31, is a former second-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2008. He signed a four-year, $36.4 million contract that includes $20.5 million guaranteed with the Chargers back in March of 2015 and was set to make a base salary of $9 million for the 2017 season when he was released by Los Angeles.
