The NFL issued the Steelers a sixth-round compensatory draft pick, giving them seven total choices. The extra pick, the No. 220th overall, comes from losing cornerback Brice McCain in free agency a year ago.
The Steelers now have picks in each round except the fifth and have two in the seventh.
They traded their fifth-round pick to Philadelphia for cornerback Brandon Boykin, who is now an unrestricted free agent. They traded their original sixth-round pick to Jacksonville for kicker Josh Scobee, whom they cut. They acquired a seventh-round pick from the New York Giants for punter Brad Wing.
