PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers must cut their roster to 53 by 4 p.m. ET Saturday, Sept. 1. Here’s a final 53-man roster projection.
Three is typically the Steelers' magic number, and, sure, Dobbs is the odd man out with Rudolph as the future and Jones the primary backup. But they've invested a lot of time in Dobbs, who's worth keeping around but might not be available on the practice squad if another team claims him. This way, the Steelers can try to gauge Dobbs' trade value through the weekend and roll with eight offensive linemen, at least for a little while.
