Steelers Film Room: Devlin Hodges secured the win against the Bengals, but how good was he?

Devlin “Duck” Hodges entered the Cincinnati Bengals games Sunday for an inept offense. His insertion into the game immediately sparked the offense. His 79 yard pitch and catch with second year wideout James Washington gave the Pittsburgh Steelers the lead in the game 10-7. While he did not make any costly mistakes, not all was roses for the undrafted rookie out of Samford. Hodges completed five of 11 passes for 118 yards on the day.

As I say over and over, stats lie. But did they in this case? Let’s examine the film to get a clearer picture.
