Steelers defense thriving in the red zone

Defensive coordinator Keith Butler said it was equal parts athletic and instinctual. Stephon Tuitt’s interception of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was a thing of beauty for the 6-foot-5, 303-pound second-year defensive end. He recognized an unfamiliar alignment, saw a running back was trying to block him, peeled back and picked off the ball at his knees.

While it was unfamiliar territory for Tuitt — it was his first career interception — the place it happened has become familiar territory for Steelers turnovers this season.

It was the sixth-red zone turnover and the second in as many weeks that helped turn the game in favor of the Steelers early.
