It started on the second play from scrimmage when James Harrison, the oldest defensive player in the league, stuffed Miami running back Jay Ajayi for no gain.
Three plays later, on the first snap of the second series, Ajayi tried to run wide to the left side of the Steelers defense. He was stopped by Harrison for a 3-yard loss. Next play, Ajayi is stuffed again, this time by Ryan Shazier and Bud Dupree for no gain.
Three carries, minus-3 yards. This wasn’t going to be a repeat of what happened three months ago in Miami.
“We established that early,” said inside linebacker Lawrence Timmons, who made 14 tackles.
