The Pittsburgh Steelers are going about trimming their roster to the league mandated 53 players differently than they have in the past. In the past, the team has waited until the deadline to get their roster cuts released, but this year the team has started releasing players days ahead of the deadline.
The NFL has told all teams to have their roster to 53 players by Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, and the Steelers already made nine players cut official over the weekend. You can now make that ten total players with reports now of the team parting ways with linebacker Jamar Watson.
