The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed a call to free-agent corner Brice McCain about working out for the team after the NFL combine, according to a source.
McCain, released by the Miami Dolphins last week, started nine games for Pittsburgh in 2014. Coming off a three-interception season with the Steelers, McCain signed a two-year, $5.5 million deal with Miami last offseason.
Considering the Steelers' defensive back situation, this is the explore-all-options portion of the offseason. Five of their top-seven defensive backs are free agents. Maneuvering is a must. The Steelers know McCain's skill set, so they probably want to gauge his health and what shape he's in physically.
