At 34, Tomlin is named the 16th head coach in Steelers history and only the third since 1969. He follows in the footsteps of Chuck Noll, pictured right, and Bill Cowher, who also were tabbed as head coaches in their 30s.

Wins his first game as coach, 34-7, in the season opener at Cleveland. Ben Roethlisberger throws TD passes to Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes, Matt Spaeth and Heath Miller.
