The Steelers made a roster move the day before their preseason opener, signing safety Jalen Elliott per NFL insider Aaron Wilson.
Pittsburgh waived/injured safety Nate Meadors in a corresponding roster move. Meadors suffered a hamstring injury on August 6.
The recently-signed Elliott should be a familiar name to Steelers fans. The safety has spent a number of stints on the team’s practice squad and offseason roster since 2023. Undrafted in 2020 out of Notre Dame, Elliott has spent time with the Detroit Lions, New England Patriots, and Las Vegas Raiders before joining the Steelers.
