The Pittsburgh Steelers made two roster moves on Wednesday, signing linebacker Tyler Matakevich to a one-year contract, releasing safety Jalen Elliott in a corresponding move.

It’s not Matakevich’s first run with the black and gold, having been drafted by the Steelers in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He spent the entire duration of his rookie contract with Pittsburgh before signing with the Buffalo Bills as a free agent in 2020, where he’s been ever since.

Matakevich worked into the Steelers’ lineup as a rotational inside backer, primarily playing on special teams.
