The Steelers have placed All-Pro running back Le’Veon Bell on injured reserve after he hurt his right knee Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals and signed veteran running back Isaiah Pead to take his place on the 53-man roster.
Bell was injured in the second quarter when he was tackled by Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict. He did not return to the game and is out for the season.
“We have to step it up a notch,” offensive lineman Marcus Gilbert said. “It’s frustrating to see Le’Veon go down. It kind of set everyone back. It’s something we have to move on from and play in his honor.
