The Pittsburgh Steelers started the Hall of Honor in 2017 when they decided to do their own version of what many teams already do in a ‘Ring of Honor’. A way for the organization to honor those deserving credit and acknowledgement for what they did for the Steelers, even if their career didn’t result in them being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
To be selected to the Hall of Honor, those selected do not have to be players, but can be contributors to the team as scouts, coaches and owners. Players must have been a member of the Steelers for at least three seasons and have been retired for at least three years.
