The Pittsburgh Steelers finally officially announced the signings of four players this past week after safety Damontae Kazee, tight end Zach Gentry, safety Keanu Neal and defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko all inked their contracts. With the details of those four deals now known, we can now update the Steelers current 2023 salary cap situation, as well as the team’s outlook.
First, let’s start with the fact that the signings of Kazee, Gentry, Neal and Fehoko only used $2,147,500 in available salary cap space following top 51 roster displacement taking place. Obviously that is a low amount of salary cap space used and a result of none of those four contracts having a 2023 cap charge greater than $2,125 million, which belongs to Kazee.
