George Muentzer arrived at Saint Vincent College at 7 a.m. Sunday, eight hours before the Steelers held their first football practice of training camp.
He stood near the front entrance to the school, waving his Terrible Towel at passing cars until the parking lot opened at 11 a.m.
Mr. Muentzer of Jeannette wore a gold, custom-made shirt with the words “44 Years of Training Camp” inscribed in black on the front and back to go along with his Steelers sneakers, Steelers socks, Steelers shorts and a Steelers 10-gallon hat that he bought at a yard sale for 70 cents.
