It’s fair to say most Steelers fans think their team is the greatest, subjectively. Sports Illustrated, however, has come to the same opinion objectively in “Football’s Greatest,” a book that breaks down the best in various categories throughout NFL history.
The Steelers are ranked No. 1 on the list of “best franchises” in this year’s edition that updates a book of the same title published in 2012. Perhaps that ranking isn’t too much of a surprise for a team that has won a record six Super Bowls, but it’s noteworthy considering the New England Patriots have won two Super Bowls in the past five years to bring themselves to within one of the Steelers’ total.
