The Kickoff
In committee, the ‘Tush Push’ may be headed for its end. The formal vote won’t take place until Tuesday but the controversial play could be banned. The Green Bay Packers initiated the conversation citing player safety concerns and slowing the pace of play. While those may in fact be important, I also believe the play is not a “football” play. It’s rugby. Assisting a player in the manner that teams do just is not football in my opinion. The play also favors the offense (what else is new?) and takes away game-planning and creativity.
