Cross Anthony Chickillo off the possibilities for the Steelers to re-sign to provide outside linebacker depth. Chickillo is signing a one-year deal with the Saints, instead.
The 27-year-old edge rusher had primarily been a backup in each of his five seasons with the Steelers, who selected him in the sixth round of the 2015 draft. He recorded 97 tackles and 7.5 sacks in 65 career games with the Steelers, including nine starts.
The Steelers re-signed Chickillo to a two-year, $8 million deal last season but released him at the end of the 2019 season in a cost-cutting move.
