The Steelers placed rookie cornerback Cameron Sutton on the reserve/injured list, waived/injured safety Jordan Dangerfield and re-signed inside linebacker Steven Johnson Monday morning when the Steelers began preparation for the season opener in Cleveland.
Sutton, who was drafted in the third round, and Dangerfield were injured in the final preseason game in Carolina Thursday night. Sutton can be designated to return to the 53-man roster after eight weeks.
The Steelers will likely go into the opener with Artie Burns and Joe Haden as their starting corners. William Gay and Mike Hilton competed during camp for the starting slot corner job.
