Ron Cook: Be angry at LeVeon Bell, but remember, in the NFL 'it's not personal, it's strictly business.'

Where is Michael Corleone when we need him?

Somebody needs to speak sense to Steelers fans who are over-the-top angry at Le’Veon Bell for turning down the team’s long-term contract offer that would have made him, far and away, the NFL’s highest-paid running back.

“It’s not personal,” Corleone said famously in “The Godfather” in 1972. “It’s strictly business.”

Wise words that apply to Bell.

I get it that most people can’t fathom how anyone could turn down a five-year, $70 million contract. I’m no different. I can’t even imagine that much money, let alone walking away from it.
