Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger wasn't with the team in San Francisco for its 24-20 loss Sunday to the 49ers.
But there was a good reason. He was in Los Angeles.
Roethlisberger had surgery in Los Angeles Monday morning, according to team spokesman Burt Lauten, and is currently recovering from the successful procedure.
"Ben Roethlisberger had successful surgery on his right elbow on Monday in Los Angeles at the Cedars-Sinai Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic. Dr. Neal ElAttrache performed the procedure in consultation with Steelers Team Physician Jim Bradley, who began his career at the Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic," Lauten said in a statement.
