Ron Hextall was up late Thursday night looking to improve his team.
According to a report from Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Penguins acquired center Nick Bonino from the Sharks sometime shortly after beating the Lightning, 5-4, in overtime Thursday.
There are no further details on the trade as of now. It has yet to be made official.
Bonino, 34, has 10 goals and nine assists in 59 games with respectable defensive impacts for the Sharks this season. This will be his second stint with the Penguins, his first coming during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons when he won back-to-back Stanley Cups.
