Depth charts are overrated. They’re mostly for fans and writers. It’s not like a referee will throw a flag if a coach makes a substitution that doesn’t obey the chart.
But the Pittsburgh Steelers released their first of the 2015 season ahead of Sunday’s Hall of Fame game and it does beg at least four questions.
1. What about Tyler Murphy?
On Monday, Mike Tomlin said the QB/WR would get a chance to prove himself at both positions and ran a route or two on Sunday. But Murphy’s been getting more and better-quality reps than Tajh Boyd since Thursday July 30.
