It was just another two-minute drill at Heinz Field.
The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra had two minutes to set up in the end zone during halftime of Thursday night’s game between the Steelers and Baltimore Ravens. For the next two minutes or so, PSO members accompanied a highlights film about Jerome Bettis. Then, after a Hall of Fame ring presentation for Mr. Bettis, they were given two minutes to get their tails (and tuxes) off the field.
Seventy symphony musicians swapped out Heinz Field for Heinz Hall to perform “Whitewater,” composed by guest conductor Jeff Tyzik, at the nationally broadcast game.
