The Steelers had a muddled situation in the secondary before Cameron Sutton injured his hamstring again Thursday night in the preseason final at Carolina. Now they might have to go into the regular season without the rookie third round pick they were hoping could challenge for playing time early in the season.
Good thing the Steelers signed Joe Haden Wednesday. That gives coach Mike Tomlin two established starters on the outside. Now the issue is in the slot, where William Gay and Mike Hilton have been competing. Could Coty Sensabaugh be an option there if Sutton’s injury is long term?
