When the Pittsburgh Steelers hired Omar Khan as general manager last season, it indicated that there would at least be some continuity from former general manager Kevin Colbert to Khan in terms of team building. In his pre-draft press conference with Head Coach Mike Tomlin today, Khan said the pre-draft process, the first without Colbert since 1999, is “85% similar” to how it was done with Colbert in the fold.
“It’s been really a similar process. I’d say it’s probably 85%, very similar to how we’ve done it in the past. I learned it from Kevin [Colbert] and have a lot of respect for how we’ve always done it.
