According to Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers have decided to move on from quarterback, Zach Mettenberger. After using a fourth-round pick to draft Tennessee product, Joshua Dobbs, the Steelers have narrowed their quarterback depth chart by releasing Mettenberger.
Mettenberger didn’t appear in a single game during his only season with the team. Despite rumors that he may be the Ben Roethlisberger successor, Pittsburgh decided Mettenberger was not a part of their future plan.
The quarterback will be looking to join his third NFL team, formerly playing for the Tennessee Titans. With the play caller marker pretty steady right now, he could find a job relatively quickly.
