As a lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan, Jim Haller is the ideal docent and ambassador for the Heinz History Center. He grew up on the North Side and attended his first Steelers game in 1956.
“I can remember they had a player named Lowell Perry,” Haller says. “He was a rookie from Michigan. He was supposed to be one of their major stars, but he was tackled by two players named Rosie Greer and Rosie Brown of the New York Giants. That was my first football game I ever went to. I just remember sitting in the first baseline seats at Forbes Field.
