SHARON, Pa. -- Pitt's football team was picked by media members to finish second in the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division, despite winning the league's championship last season, the ACC announced on Tuesday.
Pitt was projected behind Miami, which received 98 of a potential 164 first-place votes in the poll. The Panthers received 38 first-place votes, followed by North Carolina at 18.
Clemson was overwhelmingly picked to win the ACC Championship Game this season, with 103 voters tabbing the Tigers as the favorite. NC State earned 38 votes for league champion, followed by Miami (eight), Wake Forest (four), Pitt (three), and Virginia (three).
