Paul Zeise: The Steelers have mere hours to trade Martavis Bryant

Related Topics: Martavis Bryant, Antonio Bryant

Martavis Bryant was supposed to be a difference-maker for the Steelers this season. He was supposed to be that dynamic second receiver who punishes defenses for double-teaming Antonio Bryant.

He might still be able to become that player. He has all the physical ability necessary. He is fast, he is athletic, he is tall and he has proven he can make explosive, game-changing plays in the past. The Steelers were smart to gamble on him even after he was suspended for last season. If the gamble worked, the Steelers offense would be nearly unstoppable.

All of that is fiction now, and it is time for the Steelers to move on from Bryant.
