The Steelers offense’s goal to start the season was to average 30 points per game, but through seven games it isn’t even close to being on that pace, averaging only 24.3 points.
Injuries and suspensions have played a role — the Steelers have only had the trio of Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell on the field together in three of those seven games. But a larger issue than any is the performance of the offensive line, which has been consistently inconsistent. The offensive line was supposed to be a team strength and perhaps the best unit Roethlisberger has played behind.
