Inside linebacker Jon Bostic is exactly the kind of free agent a salary-cap strapped team like the Steelers have to sign. He is a productive player who fills a need but comes at a bargain basement price because he has a flaw of some sort.
In Bostic’s case, that flaw is that he is injury prone. He has played for four teams in his five-year career and missed all of 2016 with a foot injury. He has played 16 games only once in his career, his rookie season in 2013 for the Bears. He played in 13 games in 2014 for the Bears, 11 games in 2015 for the Patriots and 14 games last season with the Colts.
