In the summer the Steelers offense was supposed to look like this: Ben Roethlisberger at quarterback, Le’Veon Bell at running back and some combination of Antonio Brown, Markus Wheaton, Eli Rogers and Sammie Coates at receiver.
Due to circumstances — some beyond the Steelers’ control and some within — those six players have yet to play together this season. Bell was suspended for the first three games. Wheaton has missed four games due to a shoulder injury. Rogers has missed three games due to a turf toe injury and a disciplinary issue. Roethlisberger missed the game against the New England Patriots and played the second half of the Miami game on a torn meniscus in his left knee.
